How maximum speed is calculated

The highest plausible momentary speed in your filtered GPS data.

Max speed comes from the fastest short interval between consecutive filtered GPS points. MOOV discards impossible spikes caused by GPS glitches before finding the maximum.

Even so, momentary max speed is the least precise statistic in any GPS app, treat it as an indicator, not a measurement.
