Why does my route look inaccurate?
Weak GPS signal makes the trace zig-zag or cut corners.
Route traces jump or wander when GPS accuracy drops, usually indoors, in tunnels, in dense tree cover, or between tall buildings.
- 1Record with your device where it can see open sky
- 2Wait for a strong GPS fix (small ±m number) before moving
- 3Use "Snap to roads" on the activity detail screen to align your trace to the road network
Snap to roads is optional and never changes your distance statistics.
